The English Channel; tankers, The Downs, a good pint

A bit of a wait for some propitious weather while the crew stocked up on French food goodies and walked Dunkirk’s historic beaches before a painless crossing of the world’s busiest shipping lane with tankers all intent on mowing down Ruda.  None did though, and soon the French courtesy ensign was lowered and for the first time in nearly 10 years it was not necessary to run up the ensign of any other country. Ruda celebrated her return to home waters by anchoring for the night in the The Downs. The following day she made for Ramsgate and the crew went to the pub for a pint!
